Guidelines for Returning To Public Mass

The obligation to attend Sunday Mass will remain dispensed for the faithful in the Diocese of Norwich until further notice.

At this time, only daily Masses will be open to the public.

  • There will be a maximum attendance of 100 persons allowed.

  • Please bring your own hand sanitizer.

  • Admittance into the church is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Thank you for understanding.

  • YOU MUST WEAR A MASK!   According to state mandate, face mask that cover both nose and mouth are required of all attending public worship.

    • If you cannot wear a mask due to your health or safety due to a medical condition, please stay home.

    • Children under the age of 5 are not required to wear a mask.

  • Stay home if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or not feeling well or are considered “high risk” due to age or underlying health condition.

  • Social distancing of 6 feet must always be maintained.

  • Entry into the church will be from the handicapped door only.

  • The pews are marked with pre-determined seating.  Please fill the center sections first.  Proceed to the front of the church (near the baptismal font) and take the next available marked seat.  Members of the same household may sit together, maintaining 6 feet from their closest fellow parishioner.

  • Hymnals have been removed from the pews. You may bring your personal missal with you but remember to take it with you when you leave.

  • The distribution of Holy Communion will take place in the center aisle, after the final blessing at the conclusion of the Mass.  After Mass, those who choose not to receive Holy Communion may leave.

  • Those who wish to receive Holy Communion must sanitize their hands before they come forward, line up starting with the front pews.  You should maintain a 6-foot distance from each other as you come forward for Holy Communion.  There is tape on the floor to indicate the necessary 6 foot distance.

  • Step forward, remove your face covering, receive Holy Communion, step to the side and immediately replace your face covering.  You must then leave the church.

  • No gathering is allowed in the parking lot.  Please immediately return to your cars.

  • A basket for your collection envelopes will be placed in front of the baptismal font.

  • Cry room will be unavailable for use.

  • No one will be admitted after Mass begins!

  • Only one restroom is available for use.  (The one near the handicapped entrance).  It is for emergencies only!
